Dissolution of My Self Launch

The 1.0 window, the FAQ posted the day before, and what “out now” actually included.

Launch Notes

Dissolution of My Self left Early Store Page limbo on September 3, 2026. Pop Elephant Studio posted a Before You Buy FAQ the day prior so people would not mistake a psychological apartment story for a monster-closet horror or a three-ending romance. This page is that launch packet in wiki form.

Systems that did not change at launch—single ending, pill presentation, no combat—are explained in endings and pills and choices. Demo-only bugs stay on demo changelog.

Release time

Official FAQ:

  • United States: September 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM PDT / 8:00 PM EDT
  • Beijing time: September 4 at 8:00 AM
  • Japan time: September 4 at 9:00 AM

Platform: Steam, Windows. Not a console launch. Not a mobile launch. itch.io remains the demo / ancillary page, not the commercial 1.0 storefront.

Price

$5.99 USD list, 10% off for the first two weeks ($5.39). The Chinese store listing showed a similar 10% window (¥22 to ¥19.8 in contemporaneous news). Introductory offer copy named September 17 as the end of that discount in some store views. Always check the live Steam widget; this wiki is not a price tracker.

Languages and voice

Text: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese.
Audio: Japanese full voice.
Hector: Netoru Irakusa. Matvey: Tetsuto Furukawa.

If your Steam language is set to something else, the game will not magically grow a French dub. Pick one of the three text languages in-game. Wiki localization is English and Japanese only; we skip Simplified Chinese and Russian on purpose.

Length and features at 1.0

  • About 3–4 hours, less for fast readers.
  • Single-player, Steam Achievements (10), Family Sharing.
  • Point-and-click investigation in one rented room.
  • One ending; options change reading, not plot forks.
  • Content descriptors as listed on Steam, including screen shake late.

Minimum: Windows 10, 600 MB RAM. Recommended: Windows 10. There is no meaty GPU pitch because there is no action combat.

The FAQ that launched with the game

Worth repeating because it is the anti-confusion document:

  • Uncle and nephew are really uncle and nephew.
  • No healthy, normal romantic relationships; testers split on whether love saves anything.
  • No monsters, jumpscares, or combat. Click objects. Face memories.
  • Pills and click order change presentation, not the ending.
  • The game is one in which you dissolve a person with your own hands.
  • Hector’s rants are not the author’s views.
  • Not recommended as public-transport theater even though it is not an eroge.

Press (Automaton West, Noisy Pixel) echoed those points at launch and added the request to spoiler-tag story talk and delay full playthrough uploads until about September 17.

What “out now” does not include

  • A codes system
  • Multiplayer
  • A second language pack beyond the three listed
  • A promise that itch.io HTML5 is 1.0

If you are buying because you finished the demo and wanted the rest of the memories, you are the launch audience. If you are buying because a thumbnail said “true ending guide,” read endings before checkout.

After launch

Use Steam news for patches. Use Links for X, Discord, YouTube, and mail. Use how to play if 1.0 still wants a mouse. This launch page will not chase hourly player counts. Peak concurrent numbers on tracker sites are trivia next to the FAQ.

If you launch 1.0 and the first object you click is the medicine bottle, you have already picked a presentation. That is allowed. It is not a secret campaign. Pair this page with how to play so language, text speed, and voice volume are set before the first memory lands. Then keep room objects nearby so “out now” does not turn into “which prop did I already spend?”

The game is out. The room is still small. The discount window is not a third ending.
